We would like to thank everyone that helped make Barktoberfest a success!
We had over 150 people attend the event and raised $1,658.10, the money raised went to benefit The American Cancer Society, Labrador Rescue of Florida & Small Paws Rescue.
The event included fun and games for the whole family and everyone enjoyed musical paws & the costume contests. We saw many of our familiar friends show up and met some wonderful new friends!
We have special appearances from Jimmy Leo from Cloud 9 Balloons and The Real Tampa Bay Ghostbusters were there to keep the crowd safe from ghouls and goblins.
Lively music kept the crowd entertained as did the Hawaiian dancers from The Academy of Dance Arts. The karate kids from Ingram’s Karate performed stunts and put on a great play and the cheerleaders from Envision All-Star Cheerleading cheered and learned some Hawaiian dance moves, too! The ladies at The Stitchery welcomed the crowd into their store, where they have some great holiday specials going on.
The pet costume contest was a big hit and our contestants showed creativity and originality like we have never seen.
From Chi Chi, the Chihuahua in the hot air balloon with signs proclaiming, “My dad made me do it” and “I get air sick” to
the two therapy dogs, Blaze and Chiclet. You could tell these two were used to wearing the costume and visiting the sick at Tampa General Hospital and Moffitt Cancer Center. Blaze, a Greyhound, was outfitted such that he was both the bus and the driver, complete with cap and sunglasses, and his passenger Chiclet was completely happy “riding” in his pouch on the “bus” never even tiring of his cool ride. We were amazed and delighted throughout the day. And who could forget Gracie, the black and white cow-look-alike Great Dane with a sign around her neck saying, “Eat Mor Chicken”.
They were all winners in our eyes!
The success of this event would not have been possible without our participating vendors and the many generous local businesses who donated items for the silent auctions and raffles.
And a BIG thanks to all our wonderful partners:
